In this video I tell you why I quit the paleo diet after 4 years.
First, I now have control over my acne prone skin and know very well how to keep it clear. The main culprits in my acne are stress and lack of sleep. As long as I keep an eye on those and eat a diet full of whole, homemade, nutritious foods, my skin is fine. The foods I eat don't necessarily need to be strict paleo for clear skin.
Secondly, I want a wider variety of foods and nutrients in my diet. While years ago it would have been just fine to have a diet without much variety, in today's world this may be detrimental since most soils are demineralised and so there are less nutrients in the food. Having a wider variety of foods makes it easier to get sufficient nutrients.
Thirdly, I am a very healthy person without any disease. I don't have autoimmune disease or any health issue that mandates a strict paleo diet. So why should I limit my choices and make my life more complicated than it needs to be.
Fourthly, I have a new health goal which is to get in the best shape of my life and I feel that my high fat low carb paleo diet no longer supports my body goals.
So those are my 4 reasons to quit the paleo diet. I still believe that the paleo diet is amazing for autoimmune disease, for helping clear up skin, other inflammatory conditions, and for boosting gut health which is so important for overall health. Thanks for watching!
